2021 Season Results:
The 2021 Spring season champions are the ATX Thunder, who swept the Astros and Reds to win the Division 1 title.
In the 2021 CTBL season, the 1-seed ATX Thunder (16-4-2), managed by Jon Cuip, defeated the 3-seed Austin Reds (15-8-1) in the Championship series, earning their second CTBL title (back to back) and 3rd straight Austin area summer Championship trophy. In the game 1 of the championship series, pitchers Pete Creamer and Dillon Mangham only gave up one run and led the Thunder to a 6-1 win, while Brandon Worden led the Thunder going 4 for 4 with a HR and 4 RBI. In game 2, the Reds stormed back and took an early lead 4-1 after 3, but in the 4th the Thunder exploded for 8 runs and took the lead 9-4, nevertheless the Reds were able to come back and take the lead 11-10 with a 5 run 7th inning. The Thunder, down to the last out, managed to tie the game after a B.Worden double, forcing extra innings. In the top half of extra innings, a clutch go ahead GW RBI double from Eric Worden sealed the championship (12-11).
The 2021 semi-finals the Austin Reds, managed by Brandon Landreth defeated the Zephyrs (14-7), managed by Adam McDougal in a closely matched 3 game series, going on to win a decisive game 3 (9-4). In the other semi-final game the ATX Thunder swept the Austin Astros (10-9-1), managed by Jake Baldarama, in two closely contested games winning game 1 (5-3), and game 2 in extra innings (14-12). All teams fought extremely hard all season in what turned out to be a very competitive league from top to bottom and the best 18+ league in the Austin area.
In Division 2, the Cuyaguas defeated the Rays and then Villain to complete their sweep.
